an invitation

We have just returned from a week in the wilderness – the very same wilderness where the Hudson River School painters worked over 150 years ago, capturing the majesty of New York's landscape. We hiked, we kayaked, we slept outside, we played cards, we built campfires. While I sort through our hundreds of photos in order to do a post (or two) about our trip,  I wanted to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to each of you reading this:

Won't you welcome me into your inbox?

In just 5 easy steps, you can begin receiving each blog post directly into your email inbox. The wonders of technology! No more wondering if there is a new post, or being disappointed when you realize that you've missed something of interest. Or feeling like you can't possibly keep up with all the blogs you like. You can.

Here's how:

1. Look for the "Subscribe by email" button on the right-hand menu of the blog.

2. Type your email address into the box and hit the "Submit" button.

3. A FeedBurner window will open, asking you to type in the weird word to make sure you aren't a spambot. Once you do that, hit the "Complete subscription request" button.

4. FeedBurner will send you a verification message to your email address. Although this looks like you are done, there is one final–and crucial–step.

5. Last step! Go to your email inbox and find the verification email from FeedBurner (it looks like this). Click on the link in the email and you are all done. Now wasn't that easy?

p.s. Your email does not get shared or sold, and you can opt out at any time.
