Organdy is a fickle material.

I love its translucency, it's filminess. So seductive.

Working with it is another story though – it is both very stiff, but oddly, also very stretchy. I know, it doesn't sound like it could be both, but trust me, it is. It just does not want to stay where you put it. It keeps moving, ever so slightly. Just enough to be totally annoying. Lines that were drawn with a straight ruler become wavy, within a matter of minutes. Things that lined up once don't any longer. I have weighed it down, I have tacked it to a stretcher, I have taped it to a board. Nothing can hold it in one place for very long. Which means putting these two panels together is going to be even more of a challenge than usual (registration has always bedeviled me).

But it does receive the paint beautifully, don't you think?
